I remeber these guys in concert back in the 60's playing this song in a small bar in Toronto, they had nylon stockings hanging off their mikes, and they were so fabulous, I've been a fan ever since I heard this song....I miss the original members, but the new guys have done a good job.

message for beblondbird: Hold that precious memory of your Father - that is a wonderful comment to see - I was very close to my Daddy (yup I still call him that and I'm 58 years old ; he's been gone since 1985. But, my Dad and I shared a love of music and cooking and every minute I spent with him has turned to "gold" in my memory - so hold on to yours - Fathers' like ours can't be replaced - they're true treasures from God.

It also makes me grateful for God giving me this life to live each and every day to glorify Him and His Son with the talents and gifts He has given to me to glorify Him and share with my fellow man.

@musicloverxx1 Thanks. My father died when I was 21, and this is one song that he always played it for me. It was in a VW Jetta, manual transmission with a moonroof. He would hold my hand, and only let go for long enough to shift. Sometimes this song makes me sad, just because I knew in those moments that my father loved me. But for that same reason, it makes me happy.
