MrBRpower is right. I'm from Rio and I am also an Italian citizen legally due to my ancestry, but if people ask me, I'm Brazilian. It is different here in Europe: if a person is born in the UK to parents from (for example) Ghana or Russia, it is VERY RARE for these people to feel IDENTIFIED with the British. If you ask them, they will say they are FROM GHANA (or FROM RUSSIA).
In Brazil people IDENTIFY as Brazilians, regardless of ancestry. They are more "together" --- less segregated.

my dear, the population of Brazil is composed of various ethnic groups around the world. therefore, we Brazilians are descencentes of different peoples of Europe, Asia and even the African continent because there has been in Brazil for the crime of slavery imposed by the bastard Portuguese. So, who was born in Brazil is Brazilian. eg I am descended from 100% Italian but I'm the for Italy and for shit Europe because the love is for my darling Brazil.
