The drum pattern comes from actual tribes in Africa. During the sixties and seventies all good African beats were reworked into the western music. Even Michel Jackson used African beats (Can You Feel It?) Nobody really owned originals.

I saw the live version of Dance with the Devil, where Cozy Powell was amazing on the drums. It is like taking a riff from Hendrix and making a song out of it :) Don't think CP is looking for royalties :)
