This is a photographic record of my daughter Luthien growing up, with a song I wrote for her, performed by my Unplugged Band, as the soundtrack. The photos feature Luthien, me, my son/her little brother, and several other family members and friends, plus our many dogs, cats and horses over the years.
I wrote the first 2 verses when she was a baby and the 3rd verse a few years ago when she had become the beautiful, woman she is now.
Here are the lyrics.....
LUTHIEN MY CHILD.
Oh sometimes I love to hold you, try to feel the dreams and sighs.
All the wonders and the questions that leap behind your eyes.
But I'll never really know you or the battles that you fight
For your expressions and emotions are like ever changing skies.
You're my child, you're my child, full of tears and full of smiles
And I'll always love you my child.
Oh sometimes when you're sleeping, I wish you were awake.
The room filled with your being, like a sparkling silver lake.
But I'll never really know you or the battles that you fight
For your expressions and emotions are like ever changing skies.
You're my child, you're my child, full of tears and full of smiles
And I'll always love you my child.
And so now you are an adult and independence is your right
And you travel the world over, but still you fill my sight.
And I wish I really knew you and the battles that you fight
So your expressions and emotions could be clear blue summer skies.
You're my child, you're my child, full of tears and full of smiles
And I'll always love you my child.
You're my child, you're my child, full of tears and full of smiles
And I'll always love you my child.
