@macintosh315 In the Mahler, I use Hadcock's fingerings exactly. It's a difficult excerpt; I would not start there. Shosti 5 and 6 and maybe Prokofiev 5 would be good places to get started; they are a little more straight forward and don't have too many crazy fingerings.
@macintosh315 What mouthpiece reed combo are you using? The combo I'm playing in the video is Vandoren B40 with a cut off White Master 3. I've since switched to a Backun E+ with the same reeds. After your equipment is appropriate then concentrate on proper voicing. I've found that slow arpeggios help me "know" where those notes are. Also, get some great fingerings. The Hadcock book and learn the excerpts with his fingerings; most of the time they work really well for me.
I wish i was as good as you! my altissimo notes just sound like annoying shrieks, and i can't even reach that high G#! any tips? I've been playing Eb for a little more than a year, and i'm kinda struggling with it.
