  • double straight somersault? Since when don't the commentator's know the terminology? I'm not a gymnast and I know that was a double layout lol.

  • @tmwalkerm Double straight and double layout are both terms commonly used for that move. If we are going to be technical the actual term used in the code of points is Double Somersault Stretched.

  • To correct something I said in the post below - this seems to be a British broadcast, judging from the accents.

  • @tmwalkerm - Americans are more prone to using the term "double layout" - while the British and Canadians (maybe Australians, too?) use the term "double straight". This is a Canadian broadcast - hence the terminology.

    One is not more "correct" than the other. The other English-speaking countries have different terminology for a lot of things - both inside and outside of gymnastics.
