@ricketyfenceposts - couldnt agree more with you ey. john hartford is amazing and i love his music, but i do think that gregory alan isakov made it work. that solo that john hartford plays somewhat changes the mood of the song.

this is the BEST cover i've ever heard of this song...it really captures the mood and emotion of the words (better than the original, in my opinion, which had that awfully indulgent guitar solo interruption in the middle that ruined the flow of the story..you changed it up and it blended so well here that i had to listen to the cover again to even realize that it was still there. beautiful cover, and beautiful voice :)
