Geoffrey Chambers - Truly

From South London, Geoffrey Chambers is of Jamaican heritage. Former basketball pro and art director, Geoffrey is an artist who is gathering acclaim in his adopted home of Bahia in a roots, reggae and soul style. His independently released debut "By me" is being called a benchmark album in Latin America.

"By me" was recorded at WR Studios in Salvador 2009 and mastered at Tuff Gong in Jamaica. The album is full of hooks and melody all sewn together with great harmony, positivity, conscious lyrics and arrangements, presented by the powerful voice of Geoffrey Chambers that reminds us of the golden age of reggae.

Spreading by word of mouth Geoffrey was able to draw a crowd of 35,000 as the headline act of the Eco surf festival. His "What's my name" tour took Geoffrey across Brazil from Rio to Sao Paolo, Macior, Belem and Bahia. Headlining with world renowned artists like Ziggy and Julian Marley, Seu Jorge, Don Carlos, plus Brazillian stalwarts Natiruts and Ponto do Equilibrium. His band Dread in Brasil has developed into an all-star line up of Bahias finest. Geoffrey's live performances have drawn fans from the favelas and beyond his genre of Reggae to the mainstream performers and stars like Luis Caldas, Carlinhos Brown, Olodum and Banda Eva.

In 2011 he created history with the launch of Espresso Reggae his own Trio in the Salvador Carnaval and audiences of up to 1,000,000 people on the streets of Salvador. Geoffrey's Trio was shown Nationally and Internationally to television audiences of over 200,000,000 where he performed with Olodum, Luis Caldas teen superstars Restart, and participated on the historic return of the Meeting of the trios with Banda Eva.

Geoffrey is writing his sophomore album "the song of the ages" and the first single featuring the inventor of Axé (the most popular Brazilian style) Luis Caldas is a cover of the Roberto Carlos 70's hit Custe o que custar. A fusion of Reggae Samba and Axé the track captures the spirit of Bahia. Geoffrey is also writing for the new Olodum and Banda Eva albums. Geoffrey is currently writing on the soundtrack of a full length feature film "Invincivel" produced by Casablanca studios in Sao Paulo.
