My 22-yr-old turtle, Sheba, mulling around the house. She comes to me when I call her & is generally very curious about things in the house.

  • i hear a storm in the background......nice turtle by the way

  • Thanks, and yes, it was a stormy day that day which is why I spent so much time inside filming her. :)

  • I found a female red eared slider in my yard today, about the same size at Sheba. I left and looked out the window and hour later and saw that she was still there. I went out and found that she layed about 9 eggs but didn't dig a hole for them. So I thought she would do it later but didn't, i saw her go back and jump in the lake.

  • Wow! What a find....that's exciting. If the turtle didn't bury the eggs then chances are they aren't ever going to hatch so you can destroy the eggs. Turtles are like chickens....they can just randomly lay eggs without having them hatch. Sheba has done it many times (even without having a male turtle around). It's just something they do. :)

  • do you have any other red ear slider other than sheba?

  • nope.

  • umm - sorry got news for you turtles are deaf - they feel vibrations from the ground

  • @industrialg have any hatched

  • It's nice how you treat your turtle so nicely. I just recently got an eastern painted turtle [his name is Alvin] 2 weeks ago and he is about 3 inches long. Since I got him recently when I let him walk about or touch him or approuch the terrarium he goes crazy and runs from me. Sheba is sooooo cute and it's great that you treat her like a member of the family, not a pet. How did you get Sheba to get used to you?

  • it can hear you?

  • at the start of the video she reminded me of my 5 year old son at bedtime!

  • Awsome turtle I wish i could get one :/.

  • cute
