Very interesting four-stroke outboard motor; I believe this was the first one with a liquid-cooled engine- Lauson beat them to a four-stroke engine but it is air-cooled.

Hi, this is a basic M.W.2 engine, also known as MA 103, but thats just the enging block code.

The M.A.1 or 2 IE 6hp, 8hp, is the air cooled version, just the heads are different and no water pump, this one I believe is a 1050s outboard.

The coventry victor is a multi-purpose engine, inboard, less commion outboard as well as other applications.

The drive outboard drive chain from the engine at its lowest point, sits in the oil, as the outboard leg is full of oil up to the drive chain, just below the bevel gear and when the engine is running and chain is turning and so will splash the oil onto the bevel gear.

Job done.

The site for spares has some, but very limited, i have the last full set of 60mm rings he had.

logo, alguem colocou um parafuso errado ( com um maldito furo na cabeça)na parte superior direita da outboard leg e na época (30 anos atrás) eu não entendia o motivo. que pena!!! interrompeu a ultima oportunidade de navegar pela amazonia com o pai.

tenho visto em um site que ainda é possivel conseguir peças de reposição destas máquinas maravilhosas, é assim que consegues algo tão incrivel!!

Ei fiquei pensando sobre esta maquina e lembrei-me, de algo que nunca consegui entender direito, em 0:19 quando se ve a corrente de transmissão me veio a velha duvida : como se lubrifica aquelas duas engrenagens cônicas??? pois sei que não é possivel encher o lugar de óleo. e o motor tem muita força o que acaba por danificar as engrenagens.

Meu pai teve um, fiquei muito emocionado quando vi este filme, lembrei do meu velho, deveria coloca-lo em um barco e filmar, pena que não existem mais!!
