Palestinian Chnafa (Kunafa/Knafe) in Habibeh's pastry shop in downtown Amman, Jordan

Habibeh's is among the most famous pastry shops in the Arab World. Habibeh's founder, originally from the city of Nablus in northern Palestine, has developed a reputation for making the best Chnafa in Jordan. Chnafa--which consists of shredded dough, cheese, and syrup-- was, in the Middle ages, a delicacy enjoyed only by royalty. The modern version of Chnafa, which has been made popular by Palestinian villagers near Nablus, is referred to as Kunafa Nabulseeya and is eaten for breakfast with bread and tea. This trend, which began amongst villagers in Nablus, has spread throughout the Arab world as can be attested to via this video which was recorded in the pre-dawn hours recently in Amman, Jordan (2009). هو بين محلات الحلويات الأكثر شهرة في العالم العربي. وقد وضعت مؤسس Habibeh ، وأصله من مدينة نابلس في شمال فلسطين ، وسمعة لتقديم أفضل Chnafa في الأردن. تتمتع دقة Chnafa -- الذي يتكون من العجين تمزيقه ، والجبن ، وشراب -- كان ، في العصور الوسطى ، إلا عن طريق الملوك. ويشار إلى النسخة الحديثة من Chnafa ، الذي أحرز شعبية من قبل سكان القرى الفلسطينية بالقرب من نابلس ، كما أن Nabulseeya كنافة وأكل هو لتناول الافطار مع الخبز والشاي. وقد انتشر هذا الاتجاه ، والتي بدأت بين القرويين في مدينة نابلس ، في جميع أنحاء العالم العربي ، ويمكن أن تكون مصدقة من خلال هذا الفيديو التي تم تسجيلها في ساعات ما قبل الفجر في الآونة الأخيرة في عمان ، الأردن (2009).

these guys make the best knafeh i have ever eaten. Last time i had it was in July when i was in Amman.
