Chinese premier Wen Jiabao plays basketball with students

Beijing, May 31. Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao Tuesday joined a group of students in a basketball training session and said children should keep themselves healthy by taking part in sports and other physical activities.

Soon after arriving at the Shibalidian Primary School in Beijing's Chaoyang district, Wen took part in a 40-minute training session with 37 sixth grade students, Xinhua reported.

Instructed by school teacher Zhang Tao, Wen learnt how to dribble and control the ball.

A successful shot won him a big round of applause from the pupils, the report said.

Wen said he was "very happy" to join the students, and added that building a strong and healthy body would help them in their studies.

"Only when children are healthy, can the country have a good future. We must keep a healthy body in order to better serve the people," he said.

The school has around 750 students, most of whom are from rural households or belong to families of migrant workers.

背心、短褲、球鞋......一身運動裝的溫家寶站到了隊列的第一排。同學們以熱烈的掌聲，歡迎溫總理的到來。奧運冠軍楊揚和國家籃球隊原教練阿的江也站在了隊列中。

藍天白雲，微風習習。上午8時40分許，溫家寶和中共中央政治局委員、北京市委書記劉淇，中共中央政治局委員、國務委員劉延東來到地處城鄉結合部的北京市朝陽區十八里店小­學，親切看望師生，並和孩子們一起上了一堂體育課。
