my family are visiting family in Oz this year and we have to drive between Wangaratta in N Victoria to Adelaide. We are only visiting for 3 weeks and so I need to decide the 'must do's' . Do you think this is a 'must' ? I think it comes down to this OR Kangaroo Island. So hard to know

Difficult for me to answer as I have no idea what Kangaroo Island is like. But it's a long way out of your way to take in the Great Ocean Road. It is a lovely drive but if you have kids, it will probably mean nothing to them. I'm sure they'd prefer Kangaroo Island, so I'd probably be inclined to go for that.
