Breastfeeding challenges & supplementing with formula. If breastfeeding is not working right away don't feel guilty if you have to supplement your baby with a bottle. If you can remove milk from your breasts by pumping then your milk will still come in. Just keep trying to latch your baby and maybe one day he/she will latch! Good luck and I hope this helps!

  • Hi! is it possible to just pump and not latch the baby on at all or at least once a night and not dry up? thanks!

  • @KatiLee08 VERY.....WELL....SAID! I wish a lot more would realise what you just said

  • Wow! You had a lot of challenges from the beginning. It is normal for your milk to come in (whether you've had a vaginal or c-section) 3-7 days after delivery. In the meantime your baby gets colostrum and sucking at the breast signals your body to make milk. It sounds like the supplementation actually caused nipple confusion and hence your baby had trouble latching on until one day it 'clicked'. Way to go for sticking with it!!!! Hopefully next time, you will have better support and information!
