@MPT1983 It was only called gensis in America, it was megadrive in Europe.
-
In Europe,Australia and New Zealand it was called the Sega (Seega) Mega Drive while in America it was the Sega (Sayga) Genesis, think it was Mega Drive in Japan too.I remember the first time I heard Genesis I didnt know what that was.
-
@Adam060756 Probably different sounds for different countries... :P
-
@WebVMan They only gave your region that stupid name of ''Genesis'' because Americans wanted to be different to the rest of the world. Mega Drive sounds fierce and tough while Genesis sounds like shit! If anything the name Genesis is more copyrighted than Mega Drive, it was already the name of an 80's pop group for starters.
-
@inferndragon If you listen carefully they say ''SEGA'' in the start ups to the Sonic games. There's no SAYGAH. It's an E sound.
-
@Adam060756 Well on the Sonic games i played on the Megadrive was Say-gah (Sega) :3
-
Genesis pwns Mega Drive. I mean that name does. Sega Mega Drive? Just because it rhymes doesn't mean it's good.
-
It's pronounced ''SEGA'' with an E sound not SAYGAH with an A sound. The Sonic games in the start up also pronounced it ''SEGA'' with an E sound so all you people that pronounce it with an A sound are the true weirdos.
Only Japan, Australia and Italy say it properly.
