I tried to teleport the pelican from map 2 to map 1, and it looks like the pilot and gunner ended up on the roof of map 1. Using the nav point as a reference, it makes sense based on where they ended up and where the pelican was when I loaded map 1. Their distance apart looks about the length of the pelican too.
This song title is "Earth City" by the way. Amazing composer, Martin O'Donnell.
