My answer to John McCain's question "What issue has not been getting enough straight talk."

Please visit http://www.davidcolarusso.com/edblog/?page_id=46 and help encourage McCain to answer the question that you feel is most important.

  • Hello, Jamie - If you haven't heard, McCain answered your video during an interview with YouTube Political-Editor Steve Grove (citizentube).

  • Yep, Steve emailed me an let me know. McCain had a great answer too.

  • Traditionally less government power? The Republican Party fought for federalist principals in the Civil War with the result the Union was preserved and slavery was ended by amending the Constitution.

  • Yah, but that republican party was almost the opposite of what it is today. I guess by "traditional" I mean of the modern Republican party. I stand corrected.

  • I wanna see :o

  • Whether or not a party is for more or less government, it's all meaningless. Parties exist to accumulate power and grow the state. Why does anyone think people get into politics in the first place?

  • Great question, and congratulations getting the response!

  • Good upload. =) Ever wondered what it looks like underneath a speeding train? train.lostfrog . com is pretty sweet.

  • great vid

  • True the Republican Party of that time would be the scum sucking liberals of today :)

  • I would have to agree with j0eg0d. The government has way to much power. Combine apathetic citizens with a monstrosity of a government and what you get is government secrecy and abuse of power.

The only answer is to reduce government power, otherwise the government will lie, run our lives, and continue to intervene throughout the world because the government thinks the citizens don't know any better.

  • Decentralization of power. You're speaking my language. This has been an ongoing tradition of both parties to deleted our Bill Of Rights. Republicans take away rights by justifying the need for security. Yet Democrats seek the same by pushing for a FULL democracy. See, our Bill Of Rights is completely undemocratic because it allows rights to everyone. In a democratic society as a "majority votes" the minority always loses ... that's a danger Democrats overlook.
