@ninjacheckmate - good 4 you, but many of us are not at the stage where we can work. I hope 2 study next year - but it has taken me years of effort 2 get to this stage. Please don't denigrate those who can't cope. I'ts good that u can work, helps, no doubt, to give u a sense of achievement. Good on you.

I was recently diagnosed with Bi-Polar. I haven't gotten my medication yet, that's not until next Thursday.
The reason why I was diagnosed is due to the fact I suffered through a major manic episode for a good two months straight.
This video definitely educates and gives a great example as to how people like us feel.
I salute you.

Terri,
You ask a very valid and great question. Perhaps the best way to answer your question is to illustrate my relationships.
My previous relationship lasted 8 years, and my current one has lasted almost nine years. I am no walk in the park some days, but I am also a very caring and loving person.
As for as far as what is "real" concerning your new boyfriend's mental and emotional state, ask him yourself while looking him in the eyes. You'll find your answer there, too.

I am sorry that I have not checked responses lately. I hope you are doing well.

Does this guy work or does he get a check from the government? Because I'm bipolar and I work my ass off at the supermarket.

Hi there. This is a strange question to ask. LOL. But to answer your questions, yes I do indeed work. I am celebrating my 10th anniversary with mu company this May. I am in a professional, salaried position making ... well, that would be telling. :)

Hi my brother has biopolar, he is manic at moment and sleeps about 2 hours a night as he is so busy will all these "great ideas", but when he is depressed he sleeps about 20 hours a day.

81,
These are common "mental moods" of a bipolar person. Bi-Polar people actually can have great ideas that can be put to use. It is only when the ideas interfer with a person's "normal" life that they become a [roblem. The lack of sleep is also not good for one's self.
The flip side is the depression, and it can be very much a devastating situation.
Does your brother take any medication? Is he in counseling?
Stay strong!
