If you can, try to plant also the citrus fruits trees. Orange tree, lemon tree, bitter orange tree, ponderosa lemon tree, etc. Bees get really crazy about orange tree flowers, it's probably their most beloved flower because orange trees flowers smells so strongly and sweetly, and they have a so sweet juoce that bees can not resist. Citrus fruits trees don't get diseases, aphides etc, because they have a wonderful oil in their leaves and fruits that protects them. And you eat the oranges. :)

My Late Grandfather kept 13 stacks of beehives just for hobby. Its too bad those hives have been rotting in the woods and most of his gear was given away.
Here in Liberal Madison they use crop dusters to spray the whole town with BT, a geneticly modified bacteria, and no one cares!
No wonder we dont see many butterflies or bees like we used to a decade or two ago.
Also 75% of everybody here has thier lawn sprayed with chemicals 2-3 times a year.
Liberal Madison is a bunch of tools.

Without the natural world thriving, we will perish. We need always to protect the natural system. Thank you for all your work to ensure the health of our food crops. Animal "farming" has no place in a responsible, efficient food system, especially for 7 billion people.

Real nice info :)

Thank you for finding and friending me. I would have never come across your wonderful channel! Does the count have to be on sunflowers? I have a lot of the green/sweat bees visiting my tomato plants now and could easily do 15 minutes with them.

Beautiful.
Tragedy, and without intention. Ignorance on the lawn chemicals - how to get through to folks? Cities are the hope for biodiversity - did you know that the great agricultural state of Iowa has the FEWEST number of species in all 50 States? I hope you might consider joining the National Bee Count we are doing in July as a follow up to our activities in Pollinator week June 21. More info on our site on the Citizen Science tab. Hope to see you!
