Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon are so good in this hilarious 1968 comedy directed by Gene Saks. Written by Neil Simon, based on his play of the same name. If you're only familiar with the TV show, you must see this movie. Matthau originated the role of Oscar Madison in the original run of the Broadway play; Art Carney was Felix Unger, but turned the movie role down. The film was a big hit.

@LordZacknafien Really? I think the series is the best sitcom of all time. Tony Randall and Jack Klugman simply had better chemistry, doubtlessly enhanced by the fact that they actually were able to develop a relationship as the series developed. Whereas I think this was only the second film Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau did together. However, the film did introduce the great theme music.

But the Movie was better and i know because I watched the series growing up and I couldent finnish it to the second fucking season!.

Jack and Walter are the best characters in the 1968 Movie and the series sucked ass on soo many levels it got fucking cancelled in1975 because people got sick of watching 2 low class hacks who couldent make the cut in anything else!!, and because they were so damn bad at acting and lost alot in the rateings they gladly canned the show!.
Tony Randall Jack klugman even admitted that Mathau and Lemmon were the best in the Movie and better in characters!.
