  • Not sure if these guys have been covered already but you should check out Balkan Beat Box

  • stfu and just listen to the music

  • @vineyardst1 I agree with you when you talk about the cultural influences of Turkey in the Balkans. Turkish culture has shaped the Balkans not only in music but also in architecture of Balkans country, folklore, language etc. I know this because I'm from Serbia and I know well the history, culture and a way of life of Balkan peoples. But purely geographically, difficult to call Turkey Balkan country.Sorry, but I can not agree with that!

  • What happens if we are not the same or similar culturally (which is not even the case). What we are getting instead is people considering themselves the übermensch and look down on their neighbors' culture. I entered many churches in Istanbul to understand the culture there. Did you know that they don't even allow mosques to exist in Athens? I am not a believer but I do think, we must respect everyone's beliefs.

  • I was in Athens in 2007. I also visited your Mykonos, Santorini, Lesvos and Rodos. My grannies emigrated from Greece at the time of the big population exchange. I know there are very good things in the Balkans but what pisses me off is the racist discourse which is still going strong in almost all Balkan countries. Simply put, most Balkan nations hate one anothers' guts. One way to get over this must be visiting one another's country more often and putting the well-known stereotypes asise.

  • @vineyardst1 I'm sure you've never been to Greece....you surely have to come down here....Greece Bulgaria Albania and Ex-Yogoslavian countries aren't the same thing neither they are in the same category....

Plus,i would like to remind you that through so many centuries,so many wars etc it's at some point logical Greece and Turkey messed up a little bit their cultures....is'n only Turkey who influenced Greek culture but the same thing did Greece to Turkey...it's pure logic.:-)

  • @vineyardst1 Look at Greece, Bulgaria, Albania and ex-Yugoslavian nations. What you see there is the unmistakeable traces of Turkish culture. You have to come down here to realize this point.

  • @daliborkaO Look I don't know how idiotic you can get but before attacking my knowledge of geography, you should note that I am a Turk living and sharing a diversified culture that unmistakeably includes the Balkan element especially in my part of the country. If we have to remain in the domain on geography, I will have to remind you that Turkey does own territory in the Balkans but culture is not simply related to geography and it is also a cultural thing.

  • @vineyardst1 Turkey is not a Balkan country! Locted on a peninsula of Asia Minor, and belongs to the Asian continent. You may need additional lessons of geography!!! :)

  • @velion23able Turkey is a Balkan country as well. Balkan music and Turkish music are intermingled. Balkan music wouldn't be what it is today without the huge Turkish contribution.
