DK Solo 4.0.1 PTR - The Nexus (Heroic) - Commander Kolurg

I decided to solo more stuff. This time on the PTR to get a feel for DK Blood tanking in Cataclysm.

I want to stress this was done on Heroic mode at Level 80, not 85.

These exercises have helped me identify how to play my DK say, when the healer is CCed or I know a particularly nasty thing is about to happen.

@Gashvid Runes are weird now. Death Strike is being used a LOT and it converts the runes used to Death Runes, so pretty much all my frost and unholy runes are death runes all the time. Then if you use blood tap, it converts a blood rune into a death rune, so you could have 5 death runes and 1 blood rune.

@snacksgt His whirlwind damage isn't really super relevant. In the beginning I was just paranoid about interrupting the healers. Also, running away when you rely on Death Strike to heal can be irritating. If you get hit anyway, you just missed a chance to get a shield. That fight is just super hectic trying to interrupt two healers anyway.

@nec646 it's not a private server, it was on the PTR. I was practicing for live. My mods aren't all enabled on the PTR. I generally used Shadowed Unit Frames to show my health and so forth.

I had to use Army to help kill the healers before they healed. It's not possible to spec for a ghoul that can stun with the tank talents, so you really have to push it. Pretty sure I could do it without army now, but this was just the first time I got it down.

@beverageskater Actually, blood IS going to be an awesome leveling spec (Despite it's a tank spec).

You can't judge a spec's leveling capabilities based on if it's a tank spec or not, just look at protadins and prot warriors.

@beverageskater, so what if it's a tank spec? :) It's awesome for pulling several mobs and not taking that much dmg.
