This video shows the stochastic orbital migration of a small moonlet. The moonlet creates a long wavelength response in the rings which is only partially shown in this video. Due to stochastic forces from clumps and collisions, the moonlet undergoes a random walk.

This video corresponds to simulation EQ40050DT in a recent publication by Rein and Papaloizou (online preprint: http://arxiv.org/abs/1006.1643 ).
