I wouldn't even think of it. As you said, you are together, but that doesn't mean that you need to share everything. If it's important, your partner will share it with you.

And if they do not, then they will have a good reason and you just have to trust them.

If you really trust someone, why would you feel the need to look at their e-mails? To me, it's like peeking into someone's journal or diary. Unless you have proof of possible cheating, feeling the need is being way too insecure.
