I dont understand. I just stood up, tried it with empty hands and i can only get my arms over the head, but not back. Thats insane :O
I am aware i have poor shoulder flexibility, but still :P

he does it that way because he can. you should ideally do it slowly. kind of silly of him to not show proper form on the video, but he says so on his blog that you should do it slow in the beginning

Do you really need the ballistic effect here? do you have to do it as explosive and fast as you can? do you need all that velocity for it to be effective?

Could you make a slower one so it's easier to see what's going on? And show clearer how you're holding it in the beginning and the end. Think I might be doing something wrong, but not quite sure what :p
