  • pls tell me what kind of rubber was used for this model?( how long and the dimensions)Tanks

  • @gpapic2005

    Hi

The rules limit the length of the motor to 36 inches of rubber before tying the knot. This allows for a maximum length loop of around 17.5 inches. The width of the strip varies between 75thou and 1/8 depending on the weight of the model and the height of the ceiling.

For this particular model the rubber is Tan II (not sure what year) approx 85thou with probably around 1800 turns at launch.

  • nice flight! I have not made one of these for a while. Check out my channel if you want to see loads of free flight videos.

What song was that you used for backing?

  • @mattnsim

Glad you liked the flight - Neville is pretty good at no touch flying at this site which can be pretty tricky.

Not sure what the audio is - I used the Youtube AudioSwap. I liked the first tune so kept it for the video.

  • Might you recall the approximate weight of the model? Oh... I want my hangar rat to fly like that! Mine flies nicely, but with 1/8 rubber and 400 turns is limited by the 22 foot ceiling... and flies for only one minute. Great flights, very reliable, visually satisfying flights - but I would llike them to be a little longer. I will try smaller rubber and more turns.

That is a lovely flying "rat". Happy flying!

  • nice i wonder if there is any tutorial for making this

  • @gpapic2005

    thanks allot for informations

  • I was contemplating building one of these, but I didnt know how slow it could actually fly. Do you know if the Hangar Rat postal is still going?

  • Nice flight..........reminds me of the old days of Markham......
