@Rayarena Williams make a scale GG1. I think it runs about $300 but I'm not sure. Google "Williams by Bachmann" and download the catalog.

sorry, I was thinking of an accident where the GG1 was cut into "3" parts
sorry

Good to know. Again, thanks for the information.

none of the manufactures has made a scale gg1 in a couple of years. You can pick up a used Lionel on ebay for seven or eight hundred dollars. Be aware that a scale gg-1 requires at least O-72.

Thanks for getting back to me on this. By the way, who makes those expensive diecast scale GG1's? What's the price range?
Williams made a diecast non-scale model about ten years ago that I picked up new for a hundred bucks. Old style reproduction without all the sound. Only a traditional horn. Still prefer the trains without canned sound and on tinplate track. To me that is the magic of Lionel, not all this modern stuff. But hey, to each his own.

The only thing modern about this engine is the board and the speaker. It's a repro shell with 2 real growlers in it as opposed to the can motors in the Williams.

I do believe that GG1s are articulated at two spots, are they not?

The real ones and the scale ones are.
