  • rjc0234: It handles multiple parts well. The extruder retracts a little when it is going between sections to prevent oozing.

Also, it handles overhangs surprisingly well, but there are limits. I think a capital C would be pretty hard, but maybe doable if you allow for a little droop.

  • Just assembling my Prusa now. Very classy that you referenced canadaduane's work. I saw this video from the thingiverse posting you made btw.

  • @3space Thanks, good luck on your assembly! :)

  • Your X drive belt is deflected too far from the pulleys to the carriage. You will have X inaccuracy near the edges of your print volume. You should put a spacer under the belt on the carriage so that it sits level.

  • @sparr000 Thanks for the heads up. Someone else mentioned this on IRC, too. I am going to add spacers to try to keep the belts horizontal.

  • Wow, it's really something else to see your design being printed on a machine that might be in a galaxy far, far away for all I know. Way to go with the assembly of the Prusa, and the great video to share!

  • @canadaduane

I am in Portland, OR. BTW. :) Thanks for sharing!

  • ok, while im way of building my own, a few questions

how well does it do seperate parts? as it works a bit like a glue gun, so are there ever many thin bits where it stops extruding to move to the next part

secondly, how well can it handle overhangs, so say you wanted to rtint a C shape verticaly (instead of the sensible flat version) how well would it work?

  • Thanks You, this video give a good look round while printing

  • Nice looking printer
