Description: After a day of throwing up at home, and three more days in the hospital trying to figure out what was wrong with me, they finally cut me open to see for themselves..
And wala, my appendix ruptured in half! Yay!
This was me shortly after the surgery; I was a little out of it, but I was quite friendly with my ice chips and morphine pump, which I made sure to tap every 6 minutes.. that thing didn't help much.

I was out by the 24th (I recovered fast because I was generally young/healthy - it felt like FOREVER to me), and I finished recovering at home with a nurse coming once a week.
I was back at full strength in about 2-3 months. :)

  • Wow i had a appendectomy 2 weeks ago but this is too much! mine ruptured also but why do they have a morphine machine and like a pump taking off her stomach contents? wow i feel bad for her. It hurts as it is and i just got a pump to drain out blood and possible pus. Well i hope shes doing fine.

  • It must be more or less severe for different people, I guess. Apparently my appendix was in a slightly odd spot, hidden in scans by my colon. You probably had yours taken out around your side, right? Mine was a bigger wound, right in the middle of my stomach. The healing took longer and I was in more pain because no one had known what was wrong with me until the last minute. I was only operated on blindly because I might have died if they waited around any longer.

    Haha, good thing, huh? xD

  • whats with the tube up your nose? i didnt know they done that for an appendectomy

  • One question did all that machine stuff hurt because the doctors are gonna see about removing mine.

  • @3ashikah

Can you explain what you mean by "Sign you have suffered"

Also i had extremely bad stomach pains throughout the day. By the time i had x-rays and an ultra sound (or whatever) the pain had migrated to my lower stomach on the right. I barely felt it because i was all hyped up on morphine the whole day. Finally at 12 a.m they took me into the O.R and i woke up two hours later in recovery. Just around 8 hours later i was up and walking and got to go home.

  • ?she is in NHT tube feeding or this is drainage !

this girl in terrible because she has sever pain and it could not be tolerate

  • @ClaysGameplay

could you describe the pain to me and what is the sign you have suffered !!

    nurse student > :D

  • Had an Appendectomy a week ago, to the day. It wasn't that bade at all. I just want to get these stupid bandages off.

  • That sounds painful I hope you are ok now

  • This sounds horrible, I thought getting the tube in the nose was painful but all of that has to be way worse.

  • I'm so glad you're OK...my grandmother's appendix ruptured, too, and where she had the appendectomy was pretty nasty. I remember having appendicitis scares back when I was 17 in 2002-2003, and they were all false alarms, including when I had to get an ultrasound...but that must have been pretty scary for you.

  • wow Sam i hope ur okay now ur brave
