I learned this song from a 78 rpm record by Vernon Dalhart. It's been covered by Marty Robbins, Burl Ives, Doc Watson, and others. The audio for this particular clip was prerecorded and I played to the playback. Why? I wanted to mix in some record scratch and give the clip the "old film" look. The lyrics to this cozy tune paint a vivid picture in one's mind of a peaceful sanctuary we yearn to go to when life gets too stressful or when we're simply homesick. I learned this song from a 1928 recording which featured vocals by Carson Robison, the song's author, and Vernon Dalhart. Only recently did I discover that it's been covered by Marty Robbins and Doc Watson. It's best you close your eyes and picture the images when listening to the song.
