I finally found Maureen and allow me to say she was AWESOME!!! Her warm hearted and kindness made it all worth while. May this song live forever, and as I told her boys will be boys and that really means boys will be idiots forever!!! Ha Ha.... Love ya Maureen and Thank You for your kindness once again....

the beat/bassline has a real Diana Ross "Touch By Touch" feel... love both!

Thanks 2 Isle of Deserted Pop Stars for recommending this. Quite a nice listen. Catchy and lyrically pleasing.

@jxxxjppp The song was very big in the New York City, Philadelphia area. I'm from Jersey, and that's how I know of it. It was a little bit more popular in Philly, but still big in both..... That's why I still love this song, it's nostalgia....

actually i had an extended mix of this on a cassette from the mid 80's and LOVED IT! to me it sounds a bit like 'lets hear it for the boy' only less annoying.was this song a hit anywhere? perhaps it,and the album its from didnt sell,so she disappeared.

the flamingo kid soundtrack version sounds a little different. not as much bass and different sounds in the background and they are more pronounced. that is if anyone has noticed this, or cares to know. I know cuz i got the song from the soundtrack itself!
Trying to find her.. ANY idea where she is????

@havingfun1968 No, I've done a few Google searches myself...with no luck. And I just saw your last comment...I don't know of it being released on CD!

its very unusual for a white artist to be on Motown records, the only other white artitsts i can remember on motown were teena marie, and charlene

There was also Carrie McDowell, Sam Harris, and Kim O'Leary. You can see Carrie's music video for 'Uh Uh No No Casual Sex' here on my channel.

thats right i forgot about Harris. i never heard of kim or carey, from what ive heard about motown they didnt seem to keen on promoting their white artists

I think they actually did to a reasonable degree (for Motown standards), but they weren't as experienced in promoting to pop/rock formats. Truthfully, they didn't do a good job of promoting even a lot of their R&B acts during the 80's and 90's! I've heard this many times from artists, and even know a couple myself who said similar things!
