This is a little showcase of filming with the XH-A1s. I used Panalook presets. 1/6 ND filter/210-800 shutter speed with the iris ring fully open. Manual settings but definately not the best filmer and still much to learn to make the picture better.

I don't do any film editing obviously I only own a mini laptop currently.

  • Awesome colors and scenery. Good job!

  • @robertaldana thanks, i kinda miss that scenery these days.

  • I must be doing something wrong: I cannot seem to get anything this sharp in focus with the very same camera I own. Panalook preset? Interesting.

  • @conewells I only watched the series on XH-A1 on the Expert Village channel. I downloaded the presets. My videos vary in quality much depending upon the lighting as I film outdoors. I'm surprised you said mine looked sharp I have been comparing mine to others peoples.

  • I wonder if the SG PRO lens would make this any prettier.....Or did you use another kind of 35MM lens? I'm really curious.

  • @conewells That is stock lens with no lens adapters. I may buy one and give it a try soon since I finally got a computer and proper editing software but I would prefer a better LCD screen first to quickly find proper focus!

  • 24p?

  • Wow!

  • @conewells I don't have a lens attachment. Now that I have an iMac I may be able to see how I can improve my clips with proper editing software. My newer videos I make next month should tell the results.

  • Thanks for the lengthy reply! I am extremely passionate about film and cinematography but I've out grown my HV30 at this stage and looking to move up to the next level. I'll probably be getting a Letus Extreme or an SG Pro, decisions decisions decisons!
