You're not a fan of strats because you have a squire trust me, i was the same way, if i could go back i would have got a strat instead of a ibanez rg 420, but i would of put a bridge humbucker and a neck humbucker and then a single coil in the middle.

i agree- low action rocks. fyi, the strat's knobs- top tone is neck pickup, bottom tone is middle pickup. and yeah, it is kinda soft rock, but i personally love it cuz you can get alot of sounds. great movie.
