  • @guitarguy2344 lol Darkside of the moon !!!!!

  • Is pink floyd??

  • same thing happened to me. The GPU ran too hot because it had a clock speed that was way too high.

  • If you don't believe in me, you can find in internet a video with a NVidia's president talking about this card problems.

    Only this.

    Sorry my bad English.

    Cheers.

  • I bought my laptop in Europe but I live in Brazil and, because this, I had to travel to Germany to use the European Warranty. If Sony had done a recall like Dell and Apple I would be able to fix my computer here in my country without spent a lot of money to travel to Germany. In my case I think it's very unfair since I trust in Sony and bought a very expensive Sony Vaio.

  • Dear InVainAndValour,

    I'm not a expert in video cards and stuff, I just tell what happen with me. I have here in front of my eyes my Sony Vaio FZ21Z with a NVidia GeForce 8600M GS. This video card was used by Dell, Apple, HP in their laptops and a lot of these computers has a overheat problems including my Sony Vaio. Sony was the unique that don't make a recall (I read this in a several foruns).

  • @Urbaxter * GeForce 8800 Ultra * GeForce 8800 GTX * GeForce 8800 GTS (640 MB, 512MB3 and 320 MB) * GeForce 8800 GT * GeForce 8800 GT for Mac * GeForce 8800 GS * GeForce 8600 GTS * GeForce 8600 GT  * GeForce 8500 GT * GeForce 8400 GS

    Also correct me if I'm wrong but the 8 series cards are for desktop machines, not laptops.

    I've had an 8800gtx for around 3 years now and It is far too big to fit in a laptop.

    In conclusion, shut your noise.

  • @Urbaxter This is the second video I have seen you post this comment on. I have this laptop and it, in fact has a Nvidia Geforce 310m not as you say a defective 8600GS. There is no such card as an 8600GS. Here is the list of 8 series cards pulled straight from the nvidia site;

  • help me out plz. im not sure if i need a graphics card fo my fz laptop. its for gaming .

  • Be AWARE people, this nvidia card have a defect, I just lost my Vaio FZ21Z last night, the GeForce 8600GS crash down!!!

    If you search you will find a lot of people with problems with this crap graphic card!!!!
