This is great! Kraus was very old here allready, but still nice colour of the voice, some tremolo, but nice. Florence is superb! She's mezzo, but here you'd say she's soprano.

I LOVE Florence Quivar - her voice is like a beautiful bell - never understood why Jessye Norman is such a DIVA while Quivar receives relatively little recognition

It was filmed in 1996. There was a celebration for Levine who first appeared at the MET as musical director 25 years ago, in 1971

Holy moly. I remember doing this song as Nicklausse, and it was simply the most amazing, most powerful song to ever perform.
