A Wood Shed Hoop House ! Why Not?

I needed to get my firewood out of the weather, but I still haven't decided where to build a wood shed. So, what to do? How about use some extra hoops from a greenhouse frame and build a hoop house over the wood pile? In the process of doing this, I was able to go over some of the basics of greenhouse / hoop house construction. And what I ended up with was a neat little covering for the woodpile, and it only cost me about $50, plus a few items I already had on hand. Definitely a blessing !

I meant how big. I live in the Boise Idaho area and our growing season is shorter and I'm always looking for a way to lengthen the growing season. Thank You

@mailman4662 Its not really a farm. Its a mobile home park, and I'm using the undeveloped part to do the gardening stuff. A lot of the property is hilly, not good for gardens. I think a hoop house woud do great for you as far as lengthening the season. You gain a few weeks in the spring, and a few in the fall..thats another 6 weeks of growing..problem solved. :-)

Nice detail to your video! Kinda makes ya wonder, if you built two deep ditches between the wood shed hoop house and one of the greenhouses, could you use the heat it produces with all that dark wood getting heated getting heated by the sun and use it as an additional heat source for the green house/s. Can the wood hoop house also be used as a wood dryer in the summer?

@mediamaker2000 Not sure about a wood dryer. I think green wood would dry better if it were stacked and fully exposed to the weather. Of course, I could be wrong. As for the ditches and mud stuff....you are just determined to have me create a huge mess. I reckon you'd like to bring that monster truck down here and tear up the place. At $40K, I'm guessing it stays put !
