A very inspirational story that shows what the sport of lacrosse has done for the self esteem of the kids of Kugluktuk, Nunavut, Canada.

  • That's the guy from announcer from Wipeout. :P

  • An amazing story because a young man named Russ Sheppard stepped up to plate and didn't leave those - our - young men behind. Sitting and talking about the problems our boys face isn't enough. We need to engage our young men the way Russ did and what better way than through sports. The Natives call lacrosse The Creator's Game - now you know why! Thank you Russ Sheppard, you are a true Warrior.

  • very great story gave me goosebumps

  • This was really awesome Russ ?I am so happy that you did this.. this is a great story but my kanyen'kehaka friend down there is right , for us lacrosse is not just a game or a sport. It is a medicine for both the players and the spectators. A healing. This is what it is supposed to do.

  • God bless these kids :'(

  • im from there

  • God bless these kids.

  • front row, #42, thats me...

russ is the best guy in the world.

lacrosse is the best sport in the world.

  • wow they seem prettty good too

  • i too come from a reserve. to see the way these kids embrace the game really touched me. coming from a location where lacrosse is played year round in beautiful facilities i realize that i have taken the sport for granted. seeing this piece made me smile a little more. it makes me a lil homesick to go back to ontario to play. very touching & inspirational story
