Netpi. I find it humorous that you would make such a broad generalization from a simple comment. I am very active in mental health reform. In addition I'm highly educated and very familiar with medication use and the effectiveness of a broad spectrum of therapies from CBT to DBT as well as surgical and deep brain stimulation and biofeedback/mindfulness therapy. Have you actually been to a psychiatric facility recently? Read any of the demographic analysis of the failure of the community Heath

@Elewyn Obviously you are misinformed as to the validity of such treatments - you believe that medication is the answer for someone deeply depressed and suicidal when it can take weeks for medication to take effect, if at all - typical misinformed or uniformed babble - thank goodness you are obviously not in any position to make treatment decisions

thats what they did to my aunt yolanda, they shocked her brain to much, and now she can't read or write at all. This happened because she was kinda violent when she was younger, so my grandma and granpa sent her to a home, and the docters shocked her to much, it's just sad that now she can't read or write. she is living with me and my mom and dad, and my grandma too.

it's sad and disgusting to see that the majority of the doctors have not change over the years. In the past, medicine was veer disturbing and I have to agree that it seemed that doctors were the ones with mental problems. Today, doctors unite with drugs companies to make money! giving us drugs that are not good for our bodies and making some diseases worse. However, EST should be banned!! This is sick!..The bunny part is the worst!

Electro shock is in use at a school for autistic children, adhd, troubled children and even those with mild problems. Look up Judge Rotenburg Center abuse.

"Medications" are supported by the same groups, why believe them when they say these are valid and beneficial - and not believe these same people who say electroshock is an effective medical intervention?
"Current" psychiatry has 3 sub-specialties of study and therapy: psychosurgery, psychopharmacology and therapeutic 130 volt electric shocks across your temples. Thank Amenhotep that these Material Scientific practices are available Now and not mushminded Psychotherapy, or (Ha Hah!) Vitamins!

they still do this. In Toronto, Canada ECT is still very much well used. Its DISGUSTING the people are barely human after.
