A Vested Interest in Creationism

For some people, the temptation to surround themselves with the cheerleaders of reinforcement is too great. Their vested interest in a certain philosophy, religious doctrine, or even political ideology erases any motivation to seek out opposing viewpoints.

Even when I heard the evidence for evolution deep down I thought it was somewhat sufficient, I just didnt acknowledge it.

I personally took the belief that god simply created humans via evolution. However I belonged to the one of the churches that do not teach the OT and only talk about how great jesus is. It was not till college and taking a modern philosophy class that I realised I new nothing of the god I worshipped. Then I read the bible, that pretty well sealed the deal on my athiesm.
