@TennisCoachno1 Great calculations! LOL. Seriously though, considering Federer did win this is three sets, I think it was a good distribution of points. The match was fairly tame in terms of quality, and the first few games of the match were pretty sloppy. Set's 2 and 3 Federer really picked it up and Safin's energy level dropped quite a bit, which shouldn't be shock, as he played a record # of sets in a GS just to GET to the final, and even then, 1-2 sets were pretty tight.
Hey, well in MY opinion it is backwards. He WAS the most talented player but that never translated into him being a very good player. He never realized his potential. I guess I see it backwards from you.
@dmh091 dude I agree that Nalbandian is/was a very good player, but he had the POTENTIAL to be the most talented player on tour. Doesn't mean he was or ever will be.
@dmh091 It's impossible to say for certain who is THE most talented player on tour and in fact, it's rather ignorant to suggest as much. However, it's pretty clear that Nalbandian was born with shed loads of natural ability. Obviously he wasn't there mentally at times and neither was his body. Too many missed opportunities. From a technical perspective, his forehand can break down and his volleying is not the most accomplished but when he's on, he can produce brilliance anywhere and regularly.
This would've been an incredible match had Safin had his legs. Most sets played heading into a grand slam final ever and all this after a year off with injury.
An incredibly disappointing match to watch from a tennis fans perspective.

@ForeverMan91
fed points won on here: 14 (1st set), 7 (2nd set), 6 (3rd set)
safin points won on here: 7, 2, 5
feds = 27/41 = 65/66 % of points won from this video by federer but to win in 3 sets perhaps this is a good ratio good work superRF1

Nalbandian was the most talented player on tour. Saying otherwise means you know nothing about tennis. Consult any tennis expert.
