RED CARPET+ PREMIERE Live on this Video / REVIEW:the most wonderful film of the festival ! A GREAT ARTWORK !!! A GREAT PERFORMANCE BY ALL 3 MAIN ACTORS jeremy RENNER, Anthony MACKIE, Guy PEARCE rewards us with great entertainment...
The very Best war Film I have ever seen! This Film should have won the Lion Award ! It definitely deserved it... [With jury in the past it would have... as no comparison in quality with very much not so good films such as the wrestler ... etc... This Film is a Venice Lion Award Quality FILM for sure ! - if From old times Lion Awards!!!!].
the story is set in Iraq. Forced to play a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse in the chaos of war, an elite Army bomb squad unit must come together in a city where everyone is a potential enemy and every object could be a deadly bomb. There are soldiers - among the elite - who have one of the most dangerous jobs in the world are disarming bombs in the heat of combat [ in order to save lives and etc. - as they believe in something..]... When a new sergeant, James, takes over a highly trained bomb disposal team amidst violent conflict, he surprises his two subordinates, Sanborn and Eldridge, by recklessly plunging them into a deadly game of urban combat. James behaves as if he's indifferent to death. As the men struggle to control their wild new leader, the city explodes into chaos, and James' true character reveals itself in a way that will change each man forever... But the quality and great success of 'the Hurt Locker' is certainly due to the extraordinary talented Katryn Bigelow and her skills in Film Directing in order to transform a story into a cinematic Artwork. 'Art' is not a strange word for Katryn as she is in fact a very talented painter. Kathryn spent two years at the San Francisco Art Institute. At 20, she won a scholarship to the Whitney Museum's Independent Study Program. She was given a studio in a former Offtrack Betting building, literally in a vault, where she made art and waited to be criticized by celebrity painters like Richard Serra, Robert Rauschenberg and Susan Sontag -the very contemporary Art icons of our century . As if not enough of Art, She later graduated from Columbia's Film School to have also skills in the Art of Film making. She was also a member of the British avant-garde cultural group, Art and Language ( The very best of the conceptual Art and worldwide known with exhibitions in all the top MOMAs in the world ) - The 'Art & Language' group is mostly known among Minimal Art or conceptual Art (avant garde) Lovers!-. Kathryn is the only child of the manager of a paint factory and a librarian. She was also once the spouse (1989-91) of the talented James Cameron (Titanic (1997) / Terminator etc...)...Among her 'crowns' it's worth to mention she directed the 'K-19: The Widowmaker' (2002) I was really impressed that at least some of the American comments were realistic, for anybody who understands cinema would classify this as a "masterpiece". I have come across many hilariously stupid and ridiculous (American) comments where they think they know what they are talking about and the thing is, they don't. Harrison Ford and Liam Neeson pulled off a brilliant realistic performance. And The Kirov Orchestra pulled off one of the greatest soundtracks ever heard (really powerful and striking pieces) ... Bigelow films are very much synonym of 'authentic' (her stories are said with a language that is as to say: it's said with full (art) heart and language , anchored in passion... her language are not just words! There is a language above words...
Kathryn has always been very active in cinema as she Directed the music video for the New Order song, "Touched by the Hand of God", which starred Bill Paxton/She was Member of jury at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2003/
Member of the jury at the Venice Film Festival in 1998 / Was member of the dramatic jury at the Sundance Film Festival in 1990. "If there's specific resistance to women making movies, I just choose to ignore that as an obstacle for two reasons: I can't change my gender, and I refuse to stop making movies. It's irrelevant who or what directed a movie, the important thing is that you either respond to it or you don't. There should be more women directing; I think there's just not the awareness that it's really possible. It is." As If being 'a woman had anything to do with Film Making ? unless there in USA? or somewhere in the world ??? for some people ? It would be the same as saying 'Art" has a gender ??? Isn't it? does it!
