A tribute to human advancement and development: The journey of human-kind. The science and discovery. The art and culture.

The music is "Alegria". There are short exerts from CNN, Rome:power and glory, Rome (HBO), NASA, hubble pictures, sid meir's civilization II and civilization IV, BBC, Neuschwanstein (disney castle - yes, it's real!), Kremlin, Richard Dawkins.net, Martin Luther King speech and home videos. This video would not be possible without contributions from these (and more) parties.

  • It's a depressing thought.

Given the extraordinary amount of time until the end of the universe, maybe, just maybe, we'll find a way to survive the heat death of the universe.

Or, we can at least hope that intelligent life is common, and that if a new universe is formed, life starts again.

  • I really like this, makes you think.

Thanks for commenting on mine btw.

It's such a shame to just think, once we are all gone, everything we made, all the advancements we had, all gone, forgotten. It's hard to get it past the mind.

Well I wouldn't say it's impossible for there to be a God, just very very unlikely. We know all about the solar system, physics and biology, how galaxies interact... I don't see how anyone who understands these things can say God fits into all this. If I can try to re-direct that hope of yours though (because I think it's a good thing) I think humans can explore the stars and live in harmony with our environment. The first step is wanting it.

  • @xFENRISx yes yes religion andf science dont always agree and well I like to think God in his wisdom saw that man loves to explore and learn.he made the world in a way humans can understand it and act as if we are its masters.Science is a invention by man and im proud of our achievments but our world and the ingredients.Isnt it possably God gave us a mind and curioustity to achieve these goals

  • @OrangeGriff

It's a tribute to our advancement and development. Religion often stands in the way of it eg the dark ages was a time of religious prosperity, but scientific and ethical paralysis. In encouraging human development, I wouldn't encourage belief in a God.

  • @xFENRISx why would you regret that

  • @OrangeGriff

That wasn't really the message of the video. There's no reason any of this would need a God. It's about what humans can do as a species and what we have done throughout history. I truly regret if I have given you that impression.

  • this video makes me relize god is real and he loves and watches us

  • Really great video! 5/5

  • We will collide with Andromeda in 2 billion years, so we have time.
