One Big Family Chapter Eleven (Part I)

-With Seth-
News spread of the events of last night, and Seth's mood dropped, even though he was now going out with the cutest, most sweet guy in the whole school. Scott didn't seem at all fazed by the insults being hurled at him from everyone, even his friends. He just shook it off, and sometimes, just to piss them off, he would kiss Seth tenderly and passionately. Seth didn't mind.
Taylor hadn't shown up today, and he guessed that he was with Mark, his latest best friend. Mark was Alyson's boyfriend, and Seth knew that he was also a druggie. He despised the guy, and had thought about telling Alyson, but felt that he shouldn't be the one to let her know, and that Mark should admit it to her face so that she could dump his sorry ass. She deserved so much better, even if they had been together for years and she loved him.
Scott took Seth's hand in his and they both smiled down at the sight of their fingers intertwined, and Seth realised that he was smitten. He looked down so that his boyfriend wouldn't see that his cheeks were bright red.
"Are you blushing?" smirked Scott, squeezing his hand. "You're so freaking cute!"
"Thanks," replied Seth, still looking down. "But you know it's not true."
"Why would I lie to you? You're my boyfriend, Seth," Scott said. "And I really, really like you."
"I really, really like you, too," Seth smiled. "You're perfect."
He sighed. "No I'm not." Scott took his boyfriend's hand and led him into the janitor's closet, closing the door behind them. Seth sensed that he was about to tell him something important, but something that should be kept secret. "I've always known who I am in the world, whereas I've watched others struggle to find themselves. I was sure that I was gay from the moment all my friends started liking girls. Most of the time when I looked at girls, I saw whiny, moany, needy creatures that clung to you like limpets. But still, it was what I was supposed to do, right? Date girls? So that's what I did. I got a girlfriend, but when she found out about my sexuality, she was so harsh." He pinched the bridge of his nose now, and Seth knew that he was about to cry. "I couldn't take the pain. I...I started self-harming..." He teared up, and Seth walked closer to him, wrapping his arms around his sobbing boyfriend.
"Baby, you are one of the most wonderful people I know. You don't need to hurt yourself. You're amazing, Scott. You always knew who you were and you didn't deny it and you fought for what you believed in," said Seth. "Look at me. I'm the complete opposite. Look at what a mess you rescued me from. You found me, you took me under your wing and you love me for who I really am. And I love you for who you are, including all the flaws as well as the amazing things about you. You are what you are. No one can take that away from you, so don't beat yourself up because people can't accept you for the incredible person you are. I love you, Scott."
Scott's head lifted, and his eyes lit up. "You do?" he asked, smiling in disbelief. Seth nodded. "I love you, too."
Both leaned in unintentionally, Seth's heart beating out of his chest, his breathing slowing down so that he could focus on the way Scott's eyes seemed to change colour as the space between them was closed. They went from brown to hazel, then to a dark green. Everything finally made sense as their lips touched, and the world seemed to fade away for just a few minutes.
The final bell rang and they broke apart, but their fingers were still twined. As they walked out of the school building, they spotted Alyson's friend Gabriella, who waved at Seth and ran over to him.
"Have you seen Alyson?" she asked. "No one's heard from her for almost a week." The worry in her voice was evident, although Seth wasn't sure whether it was because she feared something had happened to her friend or because she was just being nosy.
"No," he said. "Haven't spoken to her in a while." Honestly, he hadn't seen her for months, but now he was starting to worry. He had to get home and talk to Kevin and Jen, see if they knew anything. "I'll be sure to tell you if I find out anything." He wouldn't really, he just felt like saying it. It seemed right. "Come on, Scott." He tugged on his boyfriend's hand and they walked in the direction of the road.
