Just to add to the pointless discussion about which country's submarines "rule," I wanted to say that Swedish subs owns both US and Russian subs when it comes to underwater combat.

German subs are the best. XXI type elektroboot was the example for all modern subs. That's why British, Americans and Russians stole them to their own advantage (as they did with German jet fighters and helicopters) in 1945.

No kidding! Soviet subs were so noisy you could hear them half-way across the ocean. You could almost put your ear against the pressure hull and hear them!
