>Implying the fatboy is more manouverable than the monkeylord.

it only really counts if its a 1v1... same goes for the colossus vs ythotha...
-
This shows how overpowered artillery is. Not that its a problem, this is one aspect of the game that makes it original and my personal favorite RTS
SupCom 2 sucks btw.
-
micro fail
-
Honestly I wish they didn't change the fatboys in supreme commander 2.
-
If the fatboys consentrated fire, none would have died.
-
Ifthe fatboys consentrated fire, none would have died.

I don't know if there's a bug with the Fatboy, but it's supposed to be unable to fire its main cannons while building a ground unit, isn't it? If I build a unit with my Fatboy it stops firing, but if I tell it to hold fire while it's producing and then tell it to open fire again, it will fire its cannons even while building. Am I really the first person to notice this?
-
I hated it when the enemy made the fatboy because it was WAY too strong. But now in supcom 2, their easier to kill.
-
@rocksparadox fatboys have omni. your theory is denied! First thing I do when I make fatboys is make ~20-30 mobile flak, and they are damn near untouchable.
-
@lefeal more specifiacally, kiting.
-
A good Effective way of clearing out a bass is definately 2 Soul rippers guarding a monkeylord. This basically means the monkey lord doesnt look the threat anymore. but it still has the best damage potential. So that makes it last longer.
-
monkeylord would have won in a close up batle
-
@lefeal maybe, but when you move the fatboys in a certain degree, some cannons cant aim for the enemy. I think they're more meant to strike multiple enemies ranged at the same time
-
1 monkey lord once it got in range killed two fat boys nuff said
-
@russiarolesLOL May as well save the mass for a percival swarm.
-
@darthbandon10 Strenght in numbers my friend, strength in numbers. And you could just pump out some tier 2 aa from the Fatboy.
-
@russiarolesLOL Those pop guns are no good if a pack of strat bombers find it.
-
@darthbandon10 But it can produce a lot more units now and has greater aa damage.
-
@L2Izuna True. On larger distances the Fatboy has a mayor advantage, but if the Monkeylord gets up close and personal next to nothing can stop it from causing serious damage on shields and structures alike.
-
lol the monkeylord owned at the end
-
the only thing that wrong with this video is that you DON'T attack with just monkeylords or fatboys (campaign is an exception), and the fatboy cost a shit lot of resources which contribute that if the enemies are using a monkeylord you cant face them with a fatboy, plus the fatboy shouldn't just stand still, they should use thier range as an advantage. I mean like, fatboys are like an mobile artillery position. But its a great video whatsoever, it just doesnt reflect the game. How do you record?
-
Fatboys took a big nerf in Forged Alliance. Only 12.5k shield + 12.5k health, still costs nearly twice a Monkeylord.
if the fatboys moved away they wouldn't have ever taken a single hit and killed all the monkeylord. hell their could have been 20 and they still could win. its called micro

@lefeal, micromanagement, I know, but this is only to show power against defenece, not manuvering.

By the way, if the monkeylord (which is way cheaper, therefore with similar economies this is easily managable) is escorted by twenty Gemini Airsup fighters (also undetectable on radar) you can remove ALL omnisensors in range and easily get to the fatboy undetected so he will only pump a few rounds. However if Uef guards a Mobile factory with 20 Airsup fighters and maybe25 Gunships then no Experimental will get close except for the Seraphim bomber.

thanks for the insight. :) You play a lot online or only against AI?

@Hirvibongari2 When the demo game came out I played many online games but lately just vs 2 Supreme AI.
The AI has a better investment strat than most humans but you can outproduce it by investing 100% into resources. The only thing is they never save up a lot of exp units and they send small armies that are easily crushed.
How would you defend mass extractors on large maps, or do you try to produce a lot in base at lvl 3? I would like to play 1vs1 cybran vs uef but I have an older version.

That is a good question about the defending of mass extr. Against Sorian AI, the mod, It is really quite hard to keep it on bay. I build heavy shields on pockets of mass pools and use quite a lot of resources to build them unbreakable. Then when I have the upper hand I spam power plants and mass fabricators lvl 3 and eventyually I can produce exp units every 15 seconds or so. :)
