@MrPixarGuy Batman isn't a superhero. He's just a hero. He doesn't have super powers.

J. Michael Straczynski modified the origin idea. The Spider didn't need the radiation to gve Spidey his powers, they were a gift. Spider-Man's powers are totemic in nature, according to Straczynski. I personally find that a lot better to swallow that a radioactive spider bite. But this IS fantasy, so what the hell :D
