Key Wind clocks require a certain adjustment to keep them running properly. If you have a clock that runs then stops within a short period of time, this video may help. Setting the beat is not difficult to do, but does require a good ear and many times, lots of patience.

  • Thanks, greatly informative - just a side note, my clock - a Waltham Banjo clock - has a clutch for the adjustment rather than bending the wire - makes it a little easier. Again thanks for the great coverage of the factors affecting the beat.

  • Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Grandpa Budka died in 1973! His 1903 Seth Thomas hasn't run since! Until Today! You have thrilled me to no end! It was SO simple! I have loved that clock since I was a little kid in the 1960s! After 39 YEARS! Thank you! It just struck the hour not 20 minutes ago! You just made my whole YEAR!

  • Nice narrative, easy to undersand and I fixed my clock!!!!

  • Informative video.
