Bogota is one of the largest and most stable city economies in the region. In fact, Bogota's economy is larger than many Latin America countries, and has experienced strong growth recently.
Bogota is 5 hours from New York, Mexico City or Sao Paulo. The city is a dynamic center for business with an abundant supply of corporative, personal services and cultural activities.
Thumbs up if you got here from Zisteau.

@Jeteaime65 Avianca has an aproved direct connection to London that will open mid 2012 and apparently also plans to re-open former routes to Paris, Frankfurt, Alicante and Valencia, it also seeking routes to asia. The new international terminal will open in june 2012 while the new national terminal will open in 2014, there is talks to move the militar airpot that shares it's landing track with El Dorado, in order to further expand the airport.

For a city the size of Bogota, I am amazed by the limited number of direct airline connections. What this city needs is more direct air connections and completion of the new airport wouldn't hurt either. At the moment, the only direct air connections to Europe include MAD, BCN, CDG and FRA. There should be service to more European gateways and the city could also benefit if there direct air service to points in Asia.
