Answer: (Putin) Thank you for the question. I see that you speak russian very well. Please find and read the decision of the Congress of People's Deputies of 1989. It says clearly and distinctly: "The Congress condemns the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact of 1939, treats the pact as anti-humanistic and illegal. The pact was personal decision of Stalin and Hitler", without considering the views of the people. What else do you want? What can be said more clearly? Maybe you want hear the apologies every year? Maybe it's enough to rake over old ashes. It's time to look to the future. Enough to built national politics on the old grudges.

There was Brest Treaty (the first deal between Russian and Germany) in 1918 when Baltics countries where taken from Russia and passed under Germany control. It was the beginning of Estonian statehood. And in 1939 there was second deal between Russian and Germany, when these countries where passed back to Russia. Was it good or bad? Let us not give estimates... I think it was another dishonest collusion. But it is our history! In those days it was the norm in big politics.

So if the Baltic States where passed to Russia in 1939, how can you call it "occupation" in 1941? They where already the part of USSR.

We urge Estonian politicians to cease engaging in political demagoguery and go to work constructively

my wife is russian,born in lithuania and I lived in lithuania back in the 90's.the reasons that so many russians refuse to go home is that they know what a shit hole back home really is.another reason is that are hoping and waiting for that "fine day" when a rearmed,nationalistic,expantio­nist russian army,under putin will ride in on a white horse under under pretext of saving this poor russian minority from the abuses of actually having to work! the look russian people hate the local peoples!
