I go WAY higher levels of paper. Start at 800, 1600, 2000, 2500, 3000. Then you have a shiny smooth surface!

@yeechester can i use sandpaper to do it? and do i need like some special wax o polish it afterwards?

@ptwick123 try it and find out.. lol a cpu heatsink isnt that important or expensive.. do ur reasearch and be patient.... ive done it to my coolermaster v8 and it dropped it about 4 'C

should i lap a coolermaster hyper 101i ? plz realy about how much a preformance increase do you think i can get?

@carlje54 Try either Core Temp or Real Temp...both are very good... personally I prefer Core Temp though

call me a cheater, I took mine to the machinist..... needless to say 5 bucks and 8c on loaded temps.zalman cnps 9700led, made it a little easier to snap down too.
"remember that the plate side goes DOWN on the sandpaper." haha yeah I can just imagine some noob trying it the other way around XD
